山山地倶楽部について Club YAMASAN'chi

雑木林(Grove of mixed trees)
山山地（やまさんち）倶楽部は、一般社団法人名古屋環未来研究所の活動に参加しているメンバー有志によって2020年春に立ち上げられた自主研究活動のグループです。愛知県小牧市池之内にある雑木林を活用して、人と自然のふれあいの新たなあり方を研究しています。活動の内容は、枝打ちや間伐、下草刈りなど雑木林の維持管理全般に関わる種々の活動のほか、東屋などの研究活動施設の整備、交流会の実施などを中心としています。

活動場所となっている地区は、昔はそのあたり一帯が里山として、昭和30年代までは燃料となる薪の採取地等人と自然が交流する場所にもなっていました。しかし、最近50年の間に、燃料としての薪の利用はなくなり、その一方で住宅地の開発によって、雑木林と人とのつながりは薄れて行きました。「人と自然のふれあいの新たなあり方」とは、持続可能な形で雑木林が維持されて、次の世代に引き継がれるための方法の模索でもあります。

小牧市は、瀬戸市、春日井市及び犬山市とともに愛知生態系ネットワーク・尾張北部生態系ネットワーク協議会（大学、NPO、企業、行政等が参加）に属しています。犬山里山学センターは、展示、体験を通して里山に触れ、人と自然の関係を見直す場として犬山市が設置しています。同センターでは特定非営利活動法人犬山里山学研究所（林進所長）が「市民がつくる里山学」形成を目指した様々な活動を展開しており、山山地倶楽部のウェブサイト管理者も会員として参加しています。

Club YAMASAN'chi is an independent research activity group that has been active since 2020 by members participating in the NagoyaResearch Institute for the Future Development. They are interested in a new way of interaction between people and nature by utilizingthe mixed forest in Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture. Activities include overall maintenance and management of mixed forests, such aspruning, thinning, and undergrowth cutting, as well as maintenance of research facilities and holding exchange meetings.

In the past, the area was a satoyama(mixed forest) area, and until the 1950s, it was a place where people and nature interacted, such ascollecting firewood for fuel.　However, in the last 50 years, the use of firewood as fuel has disappeared, while the development ofresidential areas has weakened the connection between mixed forests and people.　"A new way of interaction between people and nature" is also a search for a method for sustainably maintaining mixed forests and passing them on to the next generation.

Komaki City belongs to the Aichi Ecosystem Network and the Northern Owari Ecosystem Network Council (participants includeuniversities, NPOs, companies, governments, etc.) along with Seto City, Kasugai City, and Inuyama City. The Inuyama Satoyama ScienceCenter has been established by Inuyama City as a place to come into contact with Satoyama through exhibitions and hands-onexperiences, and to reconsider the relationship between humans and nature. At the Center, the Inuyama Institute of Satoyama Studies(Director: Dr. Susumu Hayashi), a specified non-profit organization, is developing various activities aimed at forming "Satoyama StudiesCreated by Citizens." The website manager of Club YAMASAN'chi is also participating as a member.

Club YAMASAN'chi would like to introduce their activities by issuing abulletin, and build connections with fellow members whounderstand the purpose of their activities.
